Step by Step

Suggested Supplies - Acrylics

Palette

	Any type with recesses (or wells) to hold liquid colours (like the round plastic palettes that come with the clear plastic lids).  White is best.
	Egg carton (Styrofoam)

Paints

Chromacolour is David's preferred brand of acrylic paint (www.chromacolour.com)

    Jar Colours (medium viscosity):

	Titanium White
	Magenta Deep
	Cadmium Yellow Deep
	Phthalocyanine Blue
	Payne's Gray

Brushes

	Round with a good point.  Buy Sablene™ (#2 and #4) and Taklon™ (#10 or #12) for different effects.
	A larger flat brush (1") for washes (Taklon™)

Painting Surface

	Illustration board (for practice)
	Plywood (Baltic birch) or hardboard panel is the preferred choice.  Buy it already prepared or gesso it yourself (see Art Tip).

Additional Supplies (optional)

	Liquitex™ Acrylic Retarder
	Spray bottle (for water)
	Eye dropper
	Mediums (gloss / matte)
	Foam sponge
